WELCOME TO GRID SIXTY, LLC

Grid Sixty Software grew from a desire to build tools that help underdogs win: small businesses, community groups, and independent creators who deserve software they can own, modify, and control.

Rick, the project's founder, built early prototypes to solve practical problems for local businesses and discovered a common need for simple, interoperable tools that don't lock users in.

  • We build software that users own, not software that owns users — every system we design prioritizes user autonomy, data portability, and the right to exit without penalty or lock-in.
  • Open by default — we advocate for open standards, open source, and interoperability so that the software we build strengthens the broader ecosystem rather than walling it off.
  • Privacy is a feature, not a footnote — we engineer with minimal data collection, meaningful consent, and transparency baked in from day one, not bolted on after the fact.
  • We fight the feudal internet — we help clients build decentralized, resilient systems that distribute power to users rather than concentrating it in the hands of platform monopolies.
  • Technology should be legible — we write code, documentation, and contracts that real humans can read and understand, because software you can't inspect is software you can't trust.
